Cape and Islands Self-Reliance Corporation is hosting its annual small wind installers’ workshop from May 4th through May 9th in Cotuit, Massachusetts.
The installation will consist of a 15 kW Proven turbine on a monopole tower.
This workshop is a hands-on training opportunity for renewable energy practitioners, business owners and interested individuals looking to get more experience with siting requirements, wind turbine equipment selection and actual installation of a machine.
During this 6 day workshop, participants spend half of the day in classroom sessions and half of the day conducting hands-on activities relating to the actual turbine installation. You will be part of a complete installation, from siting to tying into the grid. This is a working workshop where active participation is required.
Ian Woofenden, Senior Editor of Home Power Magazine and instructor for Solar Energy International, will be co-instructing the workshop along with Megan Amsler, Executive Director of Self-Reliance and Conrad Geyser, Principal and lead installer of Cotuit Solar.
The fee for this workshop is $800 for non-members. Registration is limited to 15 attendees and is on a first come, first serve basis. Comprehensive handouts and lunches are included.
